March 19th, 2018

Just paper pushing this week. I had an exam and I met my visiting teachers this week. They are two young mom's and they both have two little kids.

Saturday, Paul and I went to an orientation for the refugee center. They focus on teaching English, helping people prepare for their written drivers license test, and help with any other paperwork problems they have. Paul is also looking at another volunteer opportunity to help immigrants learn English.

After that, we went to Colette Cooks solo violin recital. She did really well! She had every piece memorized and played very confidently.

We had some friends over for Sunday dinner and had spaghetti, garlic bread, and broccoli. They brought a game called exploding kittens. It was weird but super fun! You just try to be the last person standing and Kool everyone else off.

That's us! Hope you all had a great week! Love you ❣️

March 12, 2018

This week was a little crazy. I thought I would have more time than I did but it was still really fun! Paul and I both had a lot of homework to do for our midterms. We are also trying to eat healthier and not going out to eat. So I have been cooking more. I had a hard time staying motivated to do all the dishes that come with cooking dinner, so I decided to make it a little more fun for myself and take pictures of my plated dinners and share them on Instagram/Facebook/blog. You can follow me if you want :) I'm on insta as sarah.c.roberts, facebook as @sarah.c.roberts85 and the blog is mixingbowlswiththeroberts.blogspot.com

I'm thinking that I can tie it in with what I'm learning in class with some tips of how to improve family meal times but I haven't had time to do that yet.

This weekend was really fun. We came down Friday evening and had a dinner date with Paul's parents at Citrus Grill. Then we got some ice cream after. It was nice to see them and catch up.

Saturday, Clare came over in the morning so I could do her makeup and mom could do her hair. She looked very beautiful. Paul and I met up with Paul's brother, Matt, and his girlfriend, Hannah, later that morning for the Jordan River Temple open house. It looks really beautiful but neither of us have been there recently to notice all the changes that were made. Matt and Hannah were really cute and fun to be with. They went to see Grandma Roberts for her birthday after our date.

Paul and I went back to Salt Lake and picked up Whitney Corbett and the wedding cake to take up to the venue in Oakley. Whitney did a great job and making the cake. It was so delicious and looked simple and elegant. It took us about an hour to get to Oakley since we were driving through some scary weather but Paul got us there safely! The ceremony was so sweet. Clare's cousin married them and he did a great job of making it spiritual and personal to them. Clare and Chandler are very minimalist and relaxed and this wedding was so perfect for them. Cute and simple.

We got back to Salt Lake around 7:30 and just watched a movie with mom and dad. We watched Stand and Deliver about the math teacher at an underprivileged school where all his students passed the AP calculus exam. It was really good.

Sunday, Dad and I did the musical number. We just did an easy one page song and it turned out good I think. After church we went to see Gram and Grandpa Reed. We just chatted with them and their home teachers before they went to Jeff's birthday dinner. Then we just came back for dinner and games and then headed back to Logan. The potatoes turned out super yummy :P and I hope Amelia doesn't mind me stealing her Helsinki hat ;)
Overall, a busy but fun week. Love you all!

March 5th, 2018

It was Spring break this last week! We drove down to Zion's for a couple days and got some good weather to brighten our spirits. We went to the emerald pools and a couple of canyon lookout points. We got to drive through the big mountain tunnel.

Tuesday we did the angels landing hike and the West rim trail. Wednesday we tried to do the East rim trail but there was to much ice and we didn't have any gear for that. So we went to the weeping rock and archaeology trail.
We drove back Thursday and had a meal with Paul's Grandma on the way home. It was also fun to take James and Ben out for burgers 🍔

Paul had shadowing on Friday and he absolutely loved it. He followed an anesthesiologist, so he got to see a few different surgeries.

I just had work Friday and got caught up on homework. Saturday I came back down to salt lake for Clare's bachelor party. That was so fun! We did a dance class and I am feeling pretty sore today 😜

I haven't been cooking lately but I made some beef stroganoff today and it turned out really yummy. I like it better with beef chunks instead of ground beef and then I added bacon and made the sauce from sour cream and Worcestershire sauce. 😋🤤 And of course we had some green beans on the side #healthy

The weather has been warmer so we went for a walk to the temple and that was really nice to get to be outside and get our blood pumping.

Loved seeing you guys for a little bit and we look forward to seeing you this next weekend for the wedding!

Love you! 💕

Feb 26th, 2018

Paul and I both had exams this week. Paul did exceptionally well.

Then we just worked and did homework. Saturday we had a little day out and got Paul some cool hiking shoes. We drove down to Hurricane today after stopping by the house. Thanks again, mom, for the hair cuts ;) we got here safe and are excited to get hiking in Zion's for spring break! Woo!
